Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu thanked the Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan who instructed to send two fire-fighting aircrafts to Israel for assistance in combating forest fires, Russian service of state television channel TRT reported on Friday.
Despite that Turkey was not among the countries which Israel has asked for help, Prime Minister Erdogan instructed to send two fire-fighting aircrafts to the region.
Israeli Prime Minister by telephone thanked the leaders of all countries that have provided support to combating fire. This telephone conversation was the first one at high-level contacts between the two countries since the attack on the Mavi Marmara ship.
Turkish Red Crescent has expressed willingness to assist Israel if necessary. Humanitarian aid consisting of tents, kitchen sets and blankets are already loaded for help in case of appeal of Israel.
