The General Staff of the Turkish Armed Forces has today announced the exact number of a terror attack that took place in the Cukurca district in the Hakkari city of Turkey, the Sabah newspaper reports.

The General Staff of the Turkish Armed Forces has today announced the exact number of a terror attack that took place in the Cukurca district in the Hakkari city of Turkey, the Sabah newspaper reports.
According to the General Staff, the terror attack killed 9 servicemen injuring 15. One of the injured servicemen is in serious health condition.
A mine blew up in the Cukurca district in the Hakkari city of Turkey while a military car passed on Aug.17.

According to preliminary version, the terror attack was organized by member of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK). After the explosion, the servicemen in the military car were shot.

Turkish President Abdullah Gul made a statement regarding the terror attack, stressing that the Turkish authorities will not wait for the end of Ramadan month to launch operation to combat terrorism.

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan has also made statement condemning the terror attack, saying that Turkish authorities will take more resolute measures henceforth.

The Turkish Air Force planes carried out bombing of the Kurdish separatist positions in northern Iraq on Wednesday night.

According to CNN-Turk, about 15 fighters, including F -16's, attacked PKK militant bases and use them to attack the Turkish military in Turkey.
