Number of Syrian refugees in Turkey increases up to 17,000 people

The number of Syrian refugees crossing Turkish border increased up to 17,000 people, Zaman newspaper reported on Saturday.
There are many wounded people among the refugees, who are placed at border hospitals.
Turkey also continues construction of additional camps for arriving refugees.
Anti-government protests which began in mid-March have persisted in Syria for almost a year. Daily reports are being received about the deaths of people, both civilians and the security forces.
According to UN statistics, the total number of victims in the country exceeds 8,000 people.
The Syrian authorities accuse armed militants of the clashes saying they receive assistance from neighboring countries.
