Turkey, Egypt hold joint naval exercise

Turkish Naval Force and Egyptian Naval Force have completed a joint naval exercise, "2012 Sea of Friendship", in eastern Mediterranean on Monday, Todays Zaman reported.

Watching the military exercise on the last day, Egyptian President Muhammad Mursi stressed that the Egyptian armed forces are in high readiness against all possible attacks.

"Just as we do not interfere in the works of anyone, we do not want anybody to interfere in our own issues. Just as we do not attack anyone, we would not want anybody to attack us," Mursi underlined.

Mursi asked the Chief of Egyptian General Staff to review the list of names who participated in the Arab-Israeli War of October and wanted those names to be awarded.

Turkish-Egyptian naval exercise, which began on October 7., was designed to test readiness of the two countries' naval forces in various scenarios at sea, including search and rescue operation, counter-piracy and other operations.
