Russia and Turkey have called for coordinating joint efforts to find a political solution to the crisis in Syria, the Voice of Russia reported.
This was reported at Russia's Foreign Ministry after consultations in Ankara between special presidential envoy for the Middle East Mikhail Bogdanov and First Deputy Foreign Minister of Turkey Feridun Sinirlioğlu.
The diplomats "expressed general concern over the continuing violence there, and deterioration of the humanitarian situation", says the Foreign Ministry statement.
Mikhail Bogdanov stressed the way to achieving peace is through implementation of provisions of the Geneva communiqué of June 30. It provides for complete end to the bloodshed and launching a national dialogue.
