The younger brother of the jailed leader of the terrorist Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), Abdullah Ocalan, is on his way to İmralı, an island prison in the Sea of Marmara, to see Öcalan.

Mehmet Ocalan's visit comes shortly after three Kurdish women with links to the PKK were shot dead in central Paris, which many claimed are aimed to sabotage the ongoing peace talks.

Officials from the Turkish governent came together with the PKK leader over the past weeks to conduct talks to broker a dead for the disarming of the terrorist group.

As part of this newly revived peace process, Ocalan also came together with two Kurdish politicians, a meeting in which he gave the message that politicians should do whatever is necessary to enable peace.

The PKK chief was captured in 1999, and has since been imprisoned on İmralı Island.
