Haluk Dincer was appointed the new head of Turkey's Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, the country's Hurriyet newspaper reported on June 5.
Dincer previously served as the vice-president of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs. The former union head, Muharrem Yilmaz resigned on June 4.
The Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs was founded on April 2, 1971. It is one of the most influential associations in Turkey's industrial sphere; about 80 percent of Turkey's non-oil foreign trade turnover belongs to the union's 597 companies.
