At least one died while four others, including three police officers, were injured in a skirmish in capital Ankara on Saturday, Today's Zaman reported.
The cause of the gunbattle is still unknown.
The incident took place in Cevizlidere Huzur neighborhood around noon when a group of police officers from Ankara Police Organized Crime Unit involved in skirmish with gunmen. One of the gunmen escaped the scene and police launched sweeping raids around the area to find the assailant. Special forces were deployed to the area and police are searching buildings one by one, backed by helicopters.
Police stepped up the security in the area and constantly warn citizens in the area not to go out onto their balcony. Would police officers and suspects were taken to Gazi hospital. One of the suspects, Bülent A., died in the hospital.
