Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived in Turkey on Dec.1 to take part at the fifth meeting of the High-Level Russian-Turkish Cooperation Council, Turkish TRT Haber TV channel reported on Dec.1.
Putin and his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan are expected to discuss the main areas of cooperation between the two countries and sign a number of important documents during the meeting.
Moreover, the two sides are expected to mull the issues related to increasing the volume of bilateral trade turnover and construction of Akkuyu nuclear power plant in Turkey.
Alongside with the development of political and economic relations between the two countries, the sides will also discuss the regional issues and Syrian crisis during the meeting.
