An earthquake measuring 4.5 on the Richter scale occurred in Bursa province, northwestern Turkey, Anadolu agency said Jan. 23.
The earthquake occurred at 12:19 (UTC/GMT +4 hours) on January 23, Kandilli Observatory, Bogazici University and the Earthquake Research Institute said.
According to the preliminary data, there are no victims or destruction. The quake caused panic among the local population.
The tremors were felt in Istanbul.
