Baku, Azerbaijan, Apr.22

By Rufiz Hafizoglu - Trend:

Armenia should refuse from the one-sided assessment of 1915 events and shouldn't present these events as "Armenian genocide", Turkish foreign minister said.

Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said that not only Armenians, but also Turks suffered during the 1915 events, Anadolu agency reported Apr.22.

Commenting on the expected speech of the US President Barack Obama on 1915 events, Cavusoglu said that Obama has clear and unchangeable position on this issue.

Armenia and the Armenian lobby claim that Turkey's predecessor, the Ottoman Empire allegedly carried out "genocide" against the Armenians living in Anatolia in 1915. Turkey in turn has always denied "the genocide" took place. While strengthening the efforts to promote the "genocide" in the world, Armenians have achieved its recognition by the parliaments of some countries.
