More than 20 employees of public and private banks have been detained in Istanbul, the Turkish Milliyet newspaper said May 13.
All the detainees are accused of granting loans on forged documents, according to the newspaper.
Tax inspection revealed a total of 45 cases of issuing loans on forged documents. The amount of the loans issued is not reported.
The names of the detainees are not disclosed.
