The Russian Ministry of Education and Science has prepared a project envisaging the termination or suspension of existing agreements with Turkey in the field of scientific and technical cooperation, the ministry said Dec. 1, RIA Novosti reported.
"The Russian Ministry of Education has prepared a draft regulation on termination of scientific and technical cooperation with Turkey," a statement said.
The ministry also stressed that at present, the ministry is analyzing the cooperation with Turkish organizations in the sphere of education, science and youth policy to revise cooperation approaches.
According to the statement, more than 40 Russian universities have unilaterally suspended or terminated the cooperation with the Turkish educational institutions.
"Currently, most of 44 Russian universities cooperating with the Turkish educational institutions have already notified their Turkish partners about the unilateral termination or suspension of the signed cooperation agreements," a statement said.
Turkey-Russia relations deteriorated after the Turkish Air Force shot down the Russian Su-24 warplane Nov. 24.
