Russia is the "elder brother" of Syria and Iran, Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said.
He noted that the Bashar al-Assad's regime in Syria, Iran and militants of "Hezbollah" couldn't confront the Syrian opposition, therefore, asked for help from Russia which is actively participating in the military operations against Syrian opposition, TRT Haber reported Feb.16.
Davutoglu said Russia provides Syria with outdated weapons and intends to get rid of it this way.
Relations between Russia and Turkey have deteriorated after Turkish Air Force jets shot down the Russian SU-24 bomber when it entered Turkish airspace Nov. 24.
After the incident the Russian president signed a decree on measures to ensure national security and on special economic measures in regard to Turkey.
