Turkey’s energy sector needs additional investments in the amount of $100 billion, said Berat Albayrak, Turkey’s Minister of Energy and Natural Resources.

Turkey's energy sector needs additional investments in the amount of $100 billion, said Berat Albayrak, Turkey's Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, the country's Energy Ministry said.

It is necessary to continue a transparent energy policy in order to attract investors, he said.

In 2015, foreign direct investments in Turkey amounted to $11.8 billion - increased by 36 percent compared to the previous year, according to Turkey's Central Bank.

Azerbaijan, Spain, the US, Russia, Belgium and Netherlands are the main direct investors in various sectors in Turkey.
