Trend:

02:22 (GMT+4) Four suspected bomb makers were killed and 17 people wounded when an explosion ripped through in Turkey.

The blast occurred in the Sarikamis district, about 25 km from the region's biggest city of Diyarbakir, as Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) militants loaded explosives onto a small truck.

00:29 (GMT+4) A large explosion on Thursday struck a highway near the town of Hani in Turkey, wounding several people, Hurriyet newspaper reported.

Ambulances were dispatched to the scene, they said. Witnesses reported hearing a loud explosion from miles away.

The blast near Hani follows a car bomb attack near a military facility earlier in the day in Istanbul that wounded seven people, and another car bombing in Diyarbakir on Wednesday that targeted police and killed three people.
