Turkey’s Prime Minister Binali Yildirim has urged his compatriots not to leave the streets as a sign of support for the state.

Yildirim made the statement in a video message posted on his Twitter account.

The prime minister noted that the arrests of servicemen, involved in the military coup, are continuing.

A military coup was attempted in Turkey late Friday.

There were reports saying that Istanbul’s Ataturk Airport was seized. Reports also indicated that 46 military men headed the coup attempt.

Later, Turkish officials announced that the attempt was foiled.
