The population in Syria’s Afrin city welcomes the Operation Olive Branch against terrorists of the Kurdish Democratic Union Party (PYD) and the People’s Protection Units (YPG), Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said, the country’s media reported Jan. 26.
The minister said that the US has no right to teach Turkey human rights. “We didn’t forget what the US soldiers did after the occupation of Iraq,” Cavusoglu said.
He noted that if Washington is worried about Turkey’s struggle against terrorists, the US should openly say it. Cavusoglu added that for Turkey, unlike the US, there is no difference among terrorist groups.
“Turkey will eliminate all terrorists in Syria, and the lands cleared of the terrorists will be handed over to Syrian citizens,” Cavusoglu said.
Meanwhile, the Turkish Air Force has recently attacked Manbij as part of Operation Olive Branch, which is under the control of PYD/YPG.
On Jan. 20, the Turkish Armed Forces, together with the Free Syrian Army, launched the Operation Olive Branch in Afrin, Syria.
