An earthquake with a magnitude of 4.2 occurred in the Turkish province of Mugla in the South-West of the country, Turkish media reported May 1.

It is reported that as a result of the earthquake, according to preliminary data, no one was injured. There were no immediate reports on possible destruction.

On April 14, an earthquake with a magnitude of 5.1 occurred in the Turkish province of Adiyaman, injuring 39 people.

Turkey is located in a seismic active zone, and earthquakes, which often lead to human casualties, occur here quite often. The most powerful pulsations of the earth's crust in this country were observed in 1999 in the Marmara Sea region. The magnitude of aftershocks then made up 7,4 points. The earthquake killed about 18,000 people.
