The head of the Anatolian Businessmen's Association (ASKON) of Turkey, Hasan Ali Cesur, urged Ankara to temporarily suspend relations with the US and Israel, Turkish media reported on May 15.

He noted that the US has long lost its status of Turkey's ally.

According to Cesur, Israel with its latest actions also aggravates the situation in the region, which can lead to serious consequences.

Prime Minister Binali Yildirim earlier said Turkey is calling on Muslim countries to reconsider relations with Israel.

Yildirim noted that Turkey sharply condemns Israel's actions directed against Palestinians.

He stressed that Turkey, as before, will support Palestine.

Protest actions are underway in the Gaza Strip amid the 70th anniversary of establishment of Israel and the transfer of the US Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.

Yesterday, Israeli soldiers opened fire at the protesters. According to the latest information, 55 Palestinians were killed in the clashes, more than 2,700 were injured. Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas announced a three-day mourning.
