Last week 26 PKK militants were eliminated as part of the operations conducted against the PKK terrorist organization in Turkey, Trend reports referring to the Interior Ministry of Turkey.
The operations were conducted in nine provinces of the country.
Some 428 kilograms of explosives, 2 hand grenades and 21 machine guns were also seized during the operations.
Turkish Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu had earlier said that that for the last two years (2017-2018), the Turkish Air Force eliminated 732 militants of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) terrorist group.
The conflict between Turkey and the PKK, which demands the creation of an independent Kurdish state, has lasted more than 25 years, claiming more than 40,000 lives. The PKK is recognized as a terrorist organization by the UN and the EU.
