Turkey welcomes New Zealand’s decision to list the PKK as a terrorist organization, Trend reports referring to a statement of Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Turkey also expects from its other allies that they strengthen their support for Turkey in the fight against the PKK terrorists, the statement reads.
The conflict between Turkey and PKK, which demands the creation of an independent Kurdish state, has lasted more than 35 years, claiming more than 40,000 lives. PKK is recognized as a terrorist organization by the UN and the EU.
