A fire erupted on Sunday at an apartment building in central Istanbul, leaving four people dead and another injured, Trend reports referring to local media.
The incident happened in the morning hours at a five-storey building in the Beyoglu district on the European side of the city, the Hurriyet daily said.
Firefighters were sent to the scene along with ambulances, recovering two bodies in the building and rescuing three wounded from the blaze, the daily noted.
Two of the injured later died in hospital, the daily said, adding the cause of the fire was not immediately clear.
A total of 21 people were killed last month when an eight-storey apartment building collapsed in Istanbul.
