Iran will set up direct internet link with Turkey

Iran Minister of Communications and Information Technology Mohammad Javad Azari-Jahromi said Iran and Turkey internet networks will be connected directly to thwart sanctions, reports Trend citing to Poandpo.com

Talking to reporters on the sidelines of his meeting with Turkey’s Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Mehmet Cahit Turhan, Azari-Jahromi said that establishing direct internet connection with neighboring countries namely with Turkey would be helpful to neutralize threats on Iran's internet network is the policy adopted by Tehran.

He added that consequently the unilateral sanctions of a country will not affect Internet links between Iran and Turkey.

Jahromi recalled the previous sanctions, saying that it caused limitations for Iran's international relations with some companies and some irregularity and dysfunctions happened in Iran international telecommunications network.

Elsewhere in his remarks, he said that four neighboring states Iran, Turkey, Russia and Azerbaijan have agreed to carry out joint investment in the field of start-up businesses.

Jahromi said that the joint venture investment has not been implemented yet and that the plan will encourage the private sector to facilitate infrastructures for cooperation in tourism, health, transportation and banking system.

The initial investment volume for the implementation of this quadrilateral project is subject to the agreement among countries, he noted
