Cargo from US, Israel via Turkish ports in April exceeds 11 million tons

In April 2019, the volume of cargo transshipment from the US and Israel through the ports of Turkey amounted to 11,138,364 tons, Trend reports referring to Turkey's Transport and Infrastructure Ministry.

During the reported month, the volume of cargo transshipment from the US through the ports of Turkey amounted to 6,375,374 tons.

In April 2019, the volume of cargo transshipment from the US by ships flying the US flag amounted to 38,868 tons, flying the Turkish flag to 152,410 tons and vessels flying flags of other countries to 6,184,096 tons.

The ministry also noted that in April 2019 the volume of cargo transshipment from Israel through Turkish ports amounted to 4,762,990 tons.

According to the ministry, in April 2019, the volume of cargo transshipment from Israel by ships flying the Turkish flag amounted to 743,646 tons.

During this month, the volume of cargo transshipment from Israel by vessels flying the Israeli flag amounted to 64 685 tons and vessels flying flags of other countries - 3,954,659 tons.

In April 2019, 4,510 ships arrived at Turkish ports, and their gross registered tonnage amounted to 66.944 million tons.

In this period, 1,720 ships sailing under the Turkish flag and 2,790 ships sailing under flags of other countries arrived at Turkish ports.

The gross registered tonnage of ships arrived at Turkish ports under the Turkish flag in April 2019 amounted to 10.309 million tons, and the gross registered tonnage of ships under flags of other countries was 56.635 million tons.

According to the ministry, in January-April 2019, Turkish ports received 16,200 ships with the gross registered tonnage of 257.295 million tons.
