Number of Turkish citizens looking for job in Georgia up by almost 9 times

The number of Turkish citizens looking for job in Georgia increased in January-July 2019, Trend reports referring to Turkish Employment Agency (ISKUR).

According to ISKUR, during the reported period, the number of Turkish citizens who visited Georgia via the agency in order to find work increased by almost nine times compared to the same period of 2018.

It was noted that 53 Turkish citizens visited Georgia through the employment service in January-July 2019.

In the reported period, 11,100 Turkish citizens went abroad through the agency, which is 13.4 percent less compared to the same period last year.

According to ISKUR, in July 2019, 158,000 Turkish citizens were provided with jobs in Turkey, which is 17.9 percent more compared to the same month last year.

Of those employed in July 2019 in Turkey, men and women accounted for 68.7 and 31.3 percent, respectively. Among them, 99.7 percent accounted for the private sector.

In July 2019, the number of unemployed in Turkey amounted to 4.039 million people, 50.2 percent of which consisted of women and 49.8 percent of men.
