Real estate sales via mortgage lending down in Turkey

In July 2019, 13,000 residential properties were sold in Turkey as part of mortgage lending, which is 17,300 less compared to the same month of 2018, Trend reports referring to the country's General Directorate of Land Registry and Cadastre.

Most of the real estate was sold in Istanbul.

According to the general directorate, 2,100 real estate properties were sold via mortgage lending in Istanbul in July 2019, which is 2,800 properties less than in July 2018. In Ankara, 1,500 properties were sold via mortgage lending in July 2019, which is 2,100 properties less compared to the same month of 2018.

In July 2019, 102,200 real estate properties were sold in Turkey, which is 17.5 percent less compared to July 2018.

Furthermore, in July 2019, 4,192 real estate properties were sold to foreigners in Turkey, which is 46.7 percent more compared to July 2018.

According to the general directorate, in January-July 2019, 95,900 residential properties were sold in Turkey via mortgage lending, which is 65,500 properties more compared to the same period of 2018.
