Total capital of Chinese companies registered in Turkey increases

From January through September 2019, 78 companies with Chinese capital were registered in Turkey, which is 19 companies more than in the same period last year, a source in the Turkish Chamber of Commerce and Industry (TOBB) told Trend on Oct. 23.

The total capital of Chinese companies registered in Turkey from January through September 2019 amounted to 34.7 million Turkish liras ($6 million), while for the same period in 2018, this figure was 31.6 million Turkish liras ($5.5 million).

From January through September 2019, the majority of the Chinese companies were registered in Istanbul (65), with a total capital of 31.3 million Turkish liras ($5.4 million).

“During this period, four companies with Chinese capital were registered in Antalya province,” the report said. “The total capital of Chinese companies registered from January through September 2019 in Antalya amounted to 645,000 liras ($111,875).”

From January through September 2019, six mining, seven industrial, 36 wholesale and retail trade companies, five tourism and seven real estate companies with Chinese capital were registered in Turkey.

“The remaining companies with Chinese capital are involved in other sectors of the economy,” the TOBB said.

The total capital of 36 companies in the wholesale and retail trade registered during the reporting period amounted to 22.9 million liras ($3.9 million).
