Turkey's discloses volume of exports from Istanbul, Ankara, bordering provinces with Georgia

From January through September 2019, Turkey's exports to Georgia from Istanbul, Ankara, as well as the Ardahan and Artvin provinces on the Georgian border, amounted to $605.9 million in monetary terms, Trend reports referring to the Turkish Trade Ministry.

According to the ministry, during the reported nine-month period, exports from Istanbul to Georgia increased by 8.87 percent, compared to the same period in 2018, and amounted to $498.3 million.

Exports from Ankara, in the nine-month period, to Georgia increased by 20.19 percent, compared to the same period of 2018, and amounted to $77 million.

According to the ministry, from January through September 2019, exports from Ardahan province to Georgia increased by 28.28 percent, compared to the same period in 2018, and amounted to $1.3 million.

From January through September 2019, exports from Artvin province to Georgia decreased by 14.26 percent, compared to the same period in 2018, and amounted to $29.1 million.

In September 2019, Turkey's exports from Ankara to Georgia amounted to $10.6 million, which is 27.74 percent more compared to the same period in 2018.

Meanwhile, exports from Istanbul to Georgia in September 2019 increased by 23.45 percent, compared to September 2018, having amounted to $65.6 million.

In September 2019, exports from the Ardahan province to Georgia increased by over 2.6 times and amounted to $227,900, while the exports from the province of Artvin decreased by 23.89 percent compared to September 2018 and amounted to $3.5 million.

From January through September 2019, exports from Turkey to Georgia increased by 4.49 percent, compared to the same period in 2018, and amounted to $1 billion.

Turkey’s foreign trade turnover increased by 0.11 percent and reached $32.1 billion in September 2019 compared to September 2018.

Turkey’s total trade turnover amounted to $286.4 billion from January through September 2019.
