In September 2019, 1.071 million tourists from Russia visited Turkey, which is by 14.7 percent more compared to the same period in 2018, the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism told Trend on Nov. 4.
“The share of Russian citizens among the total number of foreigners visiting Turkey over this period amounted to 19.7 percent,” the ministry said.
From January through September 2019, 5.9 million tourists from Russia visited Turkey, which is by 15.08 percent more compared to the same period in 2018.
The share of Russian citizens in the total number of foreigners visiting Turkey from January through September 2019 amounted to 16.2 percent.
Over 5.4 million tourists visited Turkey in September 2019, which is 13.2 percent more compared to September 2018.
During the reporting period, over 2.1 million tourists visited Antalya while over 1.4 million tourists visited Istanbul.
Over 36.4 million tourists visited Turkey from January through September 2019, which is 14.5 percent more compared to the same period of 2018.
