Turkey's tobacco exports drop by over 10%

From January through October 2019, Turkey's exports of tobacco and tobacco products decreased by 10.2 percent, compared to the same period in 2018, and amounted to just under $753 million, Trend reports referring to the Turkish Trade Ministry.

According to the ministry, during the reported 10-month period, the exports of tobacco and tobacco products accounted for 0.5 percent of total exports of Turkey.

In October 2019, Turkey's exports of tobacco and tobacco products decreased by 26.4 percent, compared to October 2018, and exceeded $90.4 million, which is 0.6 percent of Turkey's total exports.

Over the past 12 months (October 2018-October 2019), exports of these goods decreased by 8.1 percent compared to the same period in 2017-2018 and amounted to over $926.1 million.

From January through October 2019, Turkish exports grew by 1.60 percent, compared with export figures for the same period in 2018, and amounted to $137 billion.

In October 2019, Turkish exports decreased by 0.33 percent, compared to October 2018, having slightly exceeded $15.2 billion.
