Cargo transshipment from India via Turkish ports exceeded 3.2 million tons

In October 2019, the volume of cargo transshipment from India through Turkey's ports amounted to over 3.2 million tons, Trend reports referring to the Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure.

According to the ministry, in October 2019, all cargo transshipment from India through Turkish ports was carried out by ships flying flags of countries other than Turkey and India itself.

Moreover, almost 1.8 million tons of cargo were transported in transit from India through the ports of Turkey in October 2019.

In October 2019, Turkish ports received 5,126 vessels, the gross tonnage of which amounted to 69.8 million tons.

In the reporting period, 1,852 vessels flying the Turkish flag and 3,274 vessels flying flags of other countries arrived at Turkish ports.

In October 2019, the gross tonnage of vessels arriving at Turkish ports flying the Turkish flag amounted to 10.5 million tons, and vessels flying the flags of other countries – 59.2 million tons.

From January through October 2019, Turkish ports received 46,607 vessels, the gross tonnage of which amounted to 660.7 million tons.

In the reporting period, 17,853 vessels flying the Turkish flag and 28,754 vessels flying the flags of other countries arrived at Turkish ports.

From January through October 2019, the gross tonnage of vessels arriving at Turkish ports flying the Turkish flag amounted to 99.1 million tons, and vessels flying the flags of other countries – 561.5 million tons.
