Turkish exports to OIC countries exceed $36B (Exclusive)

From January through October 2019, Turkish exports to member countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) increased by 8.5 percent compared to the same period in 2018, amounting to $36.4 billion, a source in the Turkish Ministry of Trade told Trend.

The ministry noted that in October 2019, Turkish exports to OIC member countries grew by 5.4 percent compared to October 2018, amounting to $4 billion.

“From January through October 2019, Turkish imports from OIC member countries decreased by 15.7 percent compared to the same period in 2018, amounting to $20.9 billion,” the ministry said.

In October this year, Turkish imports from OIC member countries decreased by 2.6 percent compared to October 2018, amounting to $2 billion.

Turkey's foreign trade turnover amounted to $34.5 billion in October 2019.

During the reporting month, Turkey's export decreased by 1.5 percent compared to October 2018 and amounted to $16.3 billion. In turn, import to Turkey increased by 10.7 percent compared to the same period of 2018 and equaled $18.1 billion.

Total value of Turkey's foreign trade turnover amounted to $320.9 billion from January through October 2019.
