Cargo transshipment volume via Turkish Izmir port revealed

The volume of cargo transshipment via Turkish port of Izmir amounted to 711,706 tons in Jan. 2020, Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure told Trend.

Transshipment of cargo via Izmir port by ships flying the Turkish flag amounted to 26,071 tons, while the ships flying flags of other countries carried 685,635 tons of cargo.

Cargo transit via the port amounted to 30,914 during the reporting month.

The total cargo transshipment through ports of Turkey exceeded 32.9 million tons in January 2020.

Cargo transshipment by ships flying the Turkish flag amounted to over 2.4 million tons.

The volume of cargo transshipment through Turkish ports by ships flying flags of their country of origin amounted to over 1.5 million tons, while the vessels flying flags of other countries carried just over 29 million tons of cargo.

In total, over 6.1 million tons of cargo were transported in transit through Turkish ports.
