Turkey's export to D-8 countries increases

Turkey's export to D-8 countries (Bangladesh, Egypt, Indonesia, Iran, Malaysia, Nigeria, Pakistan) increased by 7.2 percent from January through February 2020 compared to the same period of 2019, and exceeded $1.3 billion, Trend reports referring to Turkish Trade Ministry.

From January through February 2020, Turkey's export to the D-8 countries amounted to 4.6 percent of the country’s total export for the same period.

Turkey's export to the D-8 countries in February 2020 amounted to $668.7 million, which is 10.8 percent more compared to the same month of 2019.

“In February Turkey's export to the D-8 countries amounted to 4.6 percent of the country’s total export for February 2020,” the ministry said.

According to the ministry, Turkey's import from the D-8 countries decreased by 35.8 percent from January through February 2020, compared to same period of 2019, and amounted to $1.3 billion.

“Turkey’s import from the D-8 countries in these months made up 3.5 percent of the total import,” the ministry noted.

According to the ministry, Turkey's import from the D-8 countries in February 2020 amounted to $646.1 million, which is 32.8 percent less compared to the same month of 2019.

“In February Turkey’s import from the D-8 countries amounted to 3.7 percent of the total import for February 2020,” the ministry said.

Turkey’s foreign trade turnover in February 2020 exceeded $32.2 billion.

In February 2020, export from Turkey increased by 2.3 percent compared to February 2019, exceeding $14.6 billion.

Turkey's import increased by 9.8 percent in February 2020 compared to the same month of 2019 and exceeded $17.6 billion.

From January through February 2020, Turkey’s trade turnover exceeded $66.1 billion.

During the reporting period, export of Turkey increased by 4.1 percent compared to the same period of 2019, reaching $29.3 billion. Meanwhile, Turkey’s import increased by 14.3 percent compared to the same period of 2019, exceeding $36.8 billion.
