Cargo transshipment from Lebanon via Turkish ports in 1Q2020 disclosed

Cargo transshipment from Lebanon via Turkish ports amounted to 952,673 tons from January through March 2020, Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure told Trend on April 14.

The volume of cargo transshipment from Lebanon via Turkish ports by ships flying the Turkish flag amounted to 142,238 tons, while the cargo transshipment by ships flying the flags of other countries stood at 779,962 tons from January through March 2020.

According to the ministry, over the reporting period, 30,473 tons of cargo was handled by ships flying the Lebanese flag.

Some 45,661 tons cargo from Lebanon was transited through Turkish ports in the first quarter of 2020.

During the reporting period, the volume of cargo handled by ships via Turkish ports amounted to over 94.6 million tons.

According to the ministry, during the reporting period, the volume of cargo handled by ships flying the Turkish flag amounted to 7.4 million tons from January through March 2020.

The volume of cargo transshipment through Turkish ports by ships flying the flags of their countries amounted to 3.9 million tons, while the cargo transshipment by ships flying the flags of other countries stood at 83.1 million tons in 1Q2020.

Over the reporting period, 18.4 million tons of cargo was transited through the ports of Turkey.

The volume of cargo transshipment through Turkish ports amounted to 32.1 million tons in March 2020.

The volume of cargo handled by ships under flying the Turkish flag amounted to over 2.8 million tons in March 2020.

In the reporting month, the volume of cargo transshipment through Turkish ports by ships flying the flags of their countries amounted to 1.3 million tons, while cargo transshipment by ships under the flags of other countries stood at 27.9 million tons.

Due to the ministry, 5.9 million tons of cargo was transported in transit through the ports of Turkey in March 2020.
