Turkey reveals data on cargo port movement from Russia

BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 2

The volume of cargo transshipment from Russia through Turkish ports amounted to 17.3 million tons from January through April 2020, Turkey’s Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure told Trend.

In the reporting months, the cargo transshipment volume from Russia by ships flying the Turkish flag made up 1.1 million tons, and by ships flying the flags of other countries – 13.7 million tons.

During this period, ships flying the Russian flag transported 2.4 million tons of cargo. Meanwhile, the volume of cargo transshipment in transit from Russia through Turkish ports amounted to 720,593 tons.

In the first four months of 2020, the volume of cargo transshipment through Turkish ports amounted to 123,462 tons. Meanwhile, the volume of cargo handled by ships flying the Turkish flag amounted to 9.6 million tons.

The volume of cargo transshipment via the Turkish ports by ships flying their countries’ flags made up 4.9 million tons, and by ships flying the flags of other countries – 108.8 million tons.

Some 24.9 million tons of cargo were transported through the ports of Turkey.

In April 2020, the volume of cargo transshipment through the ports of Turkey amounted to 28.8 million tons. Meanwhile, the volume of cargo transshipment by ships flying the Turkish flag amounted to 2.2 million tons.

The volume of cargo transshipment through ports of Turkey by ships flying their countries’ flags amounted to 979,880 tons in April 2020, and flying the flags of other countries – 25.6 million tons.

In April 2020, 6.5 million tons of cargo were transported through the Turkish ports.
