Turkey announces 1H2020 cargo movement via its Botas port

The transshipment of goods through Turkey’s port of Botas made up over 7.3 million tons in the first half of 2020, Turkey’s Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure told Trend .

The ministry noted that 367,708 tons of goods were shipped through Botas port by ships flying the Turkish flags, while ships flying the flags of other countries moved over 6.9 million tons of cargo.

From January through June 2020, more than 25.3 million tons of cargo were handled in transit via Botas port, added the ministry.

In 1H2020, the volume of cargo movement via Turkish ports amounted to 179.6 million tons.

Meanwhile, the volume of cargo transshipment by ships flying the Turkish flag amounted to 14.3 million tons.

The volume of cargo transshipment through the Turkish ports by ships flying the flags of their countries amounted to 6.9 million tons, and by ships flying the flags of other countries – 158.3 million tons.

Over 36.1 million tons of cargo were transported through the ports of Turkey during the first six months of this year.

In June 2020, the volume of cargo transshipment through the ports of Turkey amounted to 28.1 million tons. At the same time, the volume of cargo transshipment by ships flying the Turkish flag amounted to 2.4 million tons.

The volume of transshipment of goods through the ports of Turkey by ships flying their countries’ flags exceeded 1 million tons, and by ships flying the flags of other countries – to 24.6 million tons.

During the reporting month, 5.4 million tons of cargo were transported in transit through the ports of Turkey.
