Data on cargo shipment from Bulgaria via Turkey's ports unveiled

The volume of cargo shipment from Bulgaria through the ports of Turkey surpassed 2.3 million tons in the first seven months of 2020, the Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure told Trend.

The ministry noted that ships flying the Turkish flag transported over 1 million tons of goods during the reporting period, while ships flying the flags of other countries –1.3 million tons.

At the same time, no goods were transported by ships flying the Bulgarian flag via the Turkish ports, noted the ministry.

From January through July of this year, 684,293 tons of cargo were handled in transit from Bulgarian through the ports of Turkey.

The volume of cargo transshipment through the ports of Turkey amounted to 209.8 million tons from January through July 2020.

Over the mentioned period, ships flying the Turkish flag shipped over 16.9 million tons of goods.

In the first seven months of this year, the volume of cargo movement via Turkish ports by ships flying their countries' flags made up 8 million tons, while by ships flying the flags of other countries – 184.8 million tons, the ministry said.

During this period, more than 41.8 million tons of cargo were handled in transit through the ports of Turkey.

In July 2020, the volume of cargo shipment through the Turkish ports amounted to 30.2 million tons. In this month, ships flying the Turkish flag transported over 2.6 million tons of cargo.

Cargo transshipment via the ports of Turkey by ships flying their countries’ flags amounted to 1 million tons, and by ships flying the flags of other countries – 26.5 million tons.

Over 5.6 million tons of goods were transshipped in transit through the Turkish ports in July 2020.
