US' 9M2020 imports of cement from Turkey edges up

The export of cement from Turkey to the US grew by 3.3 percent in the past 9 months of 2020 compared to the same period of 2019, making up $340 million, the Turkish Trade Ministry told Trend on Oct.12.

According to the ministry, Turkey exported cement worth $47.1 million to the US in September this year, which is 25.88 percent more than in the same month of 2019.

The cement export from Turkey amounted to 2.5 percent of the country’s total export for the reporting period.

“In September 2020, Turkey’s export of cement to international markets amounted to $344.6 million, which is 13.4 percent more compared to the same month of 2019,” the ministry said.

Turkey’s export of cement to foreign markets in September this year amounted to 2.3 percent of the country’s total export.

During the last 12 months (from September 2019 through September 2020), Turkey exported cement in the amount of more than $3.6 billion.
