Data on 9M2020 cargo movement from Italy via Turkish ports disclosed

The volume of transshipment of goods from Italy across the ports of Turkey made up 13.2 million tons in the past nine months of 2020, Turkey’s Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure told Trend.

During the reporting period, the volume of cargo shipment from Italy by ships flying the Turkish flag exceeded 5.3 million tons, and by ships flying the flags of other countries –over 7.5 million tons.

Meanwhile, 309,946 tons of cargo were transshipped by ships flying the Italian flag, and more than 26.9 million tons were transited from Italy via Turkish ports.

From January through September 2020, the volume of cargo transshipment via ports of Turkey made up 270.5 million tons.

More than 21.7 million tons of cargo were transshipped over the reporting period by ships flying the Turkish flag.

Over the first nine months of this year, the volume of cargo transshipment through Turkish ports by ships flying the flags of their countries amounted to 10 million tons, and by ships flying the flags of other countries – 238.7 million tons, the ministry said.

During this period, 54.4 million tons of cargo were transited through the ports of Turkey.

In September 2020, the volume of cargo transshipment through the ports of Turkey amounted to 31.1 million tons. In this month, the volume of cargo handled by ships flying the Turkish flag exceeded 2.76 million tons.

At the same time, the volume of cargo transshipment through the ports of Turkey by ships flying the flags of their countries amounted to over 1 million tons, and by ships flying the flags of other countries – 27.4 million tons.

More than 6.23 million tons of cargo were transited in September 2020 across the Turkish ports.
