As many as 2,865 tons of cargo were transported through Turkey’s airport in the Batman Province in the first 10 months of 2020, which is a 29-percent decline compared to the same period of last year, Turkey’s Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure told Trend.

Some 2,843 tons of cargo were handled via domestic flights from January through October 2020, which is also 29 percent less than in the same period of 2019.

“During the reporting period, 22 tons of cargo were transported through the Batman Airport via international flights, down by 40 percent compared to the same period of 2019,” the ministry said.

Meanwhile, the airport served 304,484 passengers, which is a 31 percent decrease year on year.

Some 303,517 passengers were served on domestic flights from January through October 2020, down by 31 percent on annualized basis. Around 967 passengers were served on international flights, which is 23 percent less than in the same period of 2019.

In the reporting period, 2,202 flights were carried out at the Batman airport, which is also 23 percent less than in the same period of last year. Some 2,197 flights were carried out on domestic flights, which is 23 percent less than in the same period of 2019.

The number of international flights via Batman airport decreased by 38 percent in 10M2020, reaching eight compared to the same period of 2019, while the number of flights in Turkey decreased by 45.9 percent and amounted to 722,084 flights.

Meanwhile, over 70.5 million passengers were served at all Turkish airports.

During the reporting period, more than 1.9 million tons of cargo were transported through all airports of the country.
