Turkey reveals Jan.2021 cargo shipment figures via local ports from Ukraine

The volume of transshipment of goods from Ukraine across the ports of Turkey surpassed 1.27 million tons in January 2021, the Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure told Trend.

According to the ministry, in the reporting month, the volume of cargo shipment from Ukraine by ships flying the Turkish flag amounted to 97,065 tons, and by ships flying the flags of other countries – over 1.11 million tons.

During the specified month, 63,160 tons of cargo were transported through the ports of Turkey by ships flying the Ukrainian flag.

At the same time, the volume of transshipment of goods in transit from Ukraine through the ports of Turkey amounted to 249,683 tons.

In January 2021, the volume of cargo transshipment through the ports of Turkey amounted to over 29.1 million tons, including more than 2.5 million tons by ships flying the Turkish flag.

During the reporting month, 6.04 million tons of cargo were transited through the ports of Turkey.

Besides, according to the ministry, in 2020, the volume of cargo movement through the Turkish ports amounted to 365.4 million tons. Some 29.6 million tons of cargo were handled by ships flying Turkish flag, and 335.7 million tons – by ships flying the flags of other countries.

Over the past year, more than 72.4 million tons of cargo had been transited through the ports of Turkey, added the ministry.
