Turkish-made steel is in great demand in construction market of Afghanistan, the Turkish Trade Ministry told Trend.
According to the ministry, the value of steel exports from Turkey to Afghanistan during the first 2 months of 2021 surged by 77.2 percent compared to the same period of 2020, topping $1.23 million.
As reported, in February 2021, the value of steel exports from Turkey to France spiked 1.7 times compared to February 2020 and reached $779,000.
The ministry said that Turkey intends to further increase steel supplies to Afghanistan over the next months of 2021.
Turkey’s steel exports to global markets during the first 2 months of 2021 increased by 6.3 percent compared to the same period of 2020, exceeding $2.26 billion.
Turkey exported steel worth over $1.21 billion to foreign markets in February 2021, which is 21.5 percent more compared to the same month of last year.
Over the past 12 months (from February 2020 to February 2021), Turkey has exported steel worth over $12.7 billion.
