Turkey reveals volume of oil products shipped through ports from Jan. through Feb. 2021

BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 1

Some 9.1 million tons of oil products were transshipped through the ports of Turkey from January through February 2021, Turkey’s Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure told Trend on April 1.

According to the ministry, in the reporting period, 353,648 tons of oil products were transported by ships flying the Turkish flag, and 8.7 million tons - by ships flying the flags of other countries.

Meanwhile, 7.8 million tons of the products were transited via the country's ports, the ministry added.

During the reporting period, 58.3 million tons of cargo were transported through the ports of Turkey.

Some 4.8 million tons of cargo were handled by ships flying the Turkish flag, while 53.6 million tons – by ships flying the flags of other countries.

In general, 11.9 million tons of cargo were transited through the ports of Turkey during the reporting period.

Moreover, 29.2 million tons of cargo were transported through the ports of Turkey in February 2021.

Around 2.2 million tons of cargo were handled by ships flying the Turkish flag, while 26.9 million tons – by ships flying the flags of other countries.

Some 5.8 million tons of cargo were transited through the ports of Turkey in February 2021.
