Some 94.6 million tons of cargo were transshipped through the ports of Turkey from January through March 2021, Turkey’s Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure told Trend on April 23.
According to the ministry, 7.4 million tons of cargo were transported by ships flying the Turkish flag while 87.2 million tons - by ships flying the flags of other countries during the reporting period.
Meanwhile, 18.4 million tons of cargo were transited via the country's ports, the ministry added.
Some 32.1 million tons of cargo were transported through the ports of Turkey in March 2021.
Some 2.9 million tons of cargo were handled by ships flying the Turkish flag, while 29.3 million tons – by ships flying the flags of other countries in March 2021.
Some 5.9 million tons of cargo were transited through the ports of Turkey in March 2021.
