Turkish Erzurum Airport's 1Q2021 cargo turnover slightly grows

The cargo turnover of Turkey’s Erzurum Airport from January through March 2021 made up 1,772 tons, which is 8 percent more than in 1Q2020, the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Turkey told Trend.

According to the ministry, in the reporting period, cargo turnover on domestic flights via the airport amounted to 1,737 tons (annual rise of 8 percent), while on international flights - 35 tons (growth of 28 percent).

The passenger traffic at the airport amounted to 189,522 people, up by 5 percent year on year. At the same time, passenger traffic on domestic flights amounted to 187,781 people (an increase of 5 percent), and on international – 1,741 people (growth of 43 percent).

According to the ministry, the number of flights performed during the first 3 months of 2021 was 1,475, which is 17 percent more compared to the same period of 2020. Meanwhile, the number of flights performed on domestic lines was 1,442 (up by 18 percent), and on international lines – 33 (rise of 25 percent).

In the first quarter of 2021, the passenger traffic at all airports in Turkey amounted to over 17.6 million people, and the cargo turnover – 600,433 tons.
