Ministry discloses volumes of cargo from Morocco transported via Turkish ports

BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 16

Some 1.6 million tons of cargo from Morocco were transported through the Turkish ports from January through May 2021, the Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure told Trend.

At the same time, 146,223 tons of cargo from Morocco were transported to the domestic ports via ships flying the Turkish flag, 1.4 million tons - via ships flying the flags of other countries.

During the reporting period, ships flying the flag of Morocco transported 4,001 tons of cargo to the Turkish ports.

Some 172,548 tons of cargo from Morocco were transited through the Turkish ports from January through May 2021.

In general, 156.6 million tons of cargo in general were transported through the Turkish ports from January through May 2021.

During the reporting period, 12.8 million tons of cargo were transported to the domestic ports via ships flying the Turkish flag while via ships flying the flags of other countries – 143.8 million tons.

Moreover, some 30.9 million tons of cargo were transited through the Turkish ports.

Some 31.7 million tons of cargo were transported through the Turkish ports in May 2021.

Around 3.03 million tons of cargo were transported to the domestic ports via ships flying the Turkish flag while via ships flying the flags of other countries – 28.6 million tons this month.

Some 6.5 million tons of cargo were transported through the Turkish ports in May 2021.
