Volume of 6M2021 cargo shipment via Turkish ports from Russia disclosed

BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 31

A total of over 28.4 million tons of cargo from Russia were transported through Turkey’s ports in the first six months of 2021, the Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure told Trend.

According to the ministry, of the total volume over 2.2 million tons of cargo from Russia were delivered to the domestic ports by ships flying the Turkish flag, and more than 21.8 million tons – by ships flying the flags of other countries.

In the reporting period, ships flying the Russian flag transported 4.3 million tons of cargo to the Turkish ports.

Besides, 998,841 tons of goods from Russia were transited via the Turkish ports over the first half of this year.

In total, 188.2 million tons of cargo were transported through the Turkish ports from January through June 2021.

During the reporting period, more than 15.3 million tons of cargo were transported to the domestic ports via ships flying the Turkish flag while via ships flying the flags of other countries – 172.8 million tons.

Moreover, some 37.2 million tons of cargo were transited through the Turkish ports.

Furthermore, 31.6 million tons of cargo were transported through the Turkish ports in June 2021.

Around 2.4 million tons of cargo were transported to the domestic ports via ships flying the Turkish flag while via ships flying the flags of other countries – 29.1 million tons in June 2021.

Some 6.2 million tons of cargo were transited through the Turkish ports in June 2021.
