Cargo turnover in Turkey’s Ankara Esenboga airport significantly increases

Ankara's Esenboga International Airport handled 12,995 tons of cargo in February 2022, which is 81 percent more than the same month in 2021, Trend reports via the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Turkey.

The airport's cargo turnover on local flights amounted to 8,555 tons (an increase of 41 percent compared to February 2021), on international flights - 4,440 tons (an increase of three times) during this period.

Passenger traffic at the airport amounted to 1.1million people, which is 78 percent more than in February 2021. Passenger traffic on local flights amounted to 957,646 people (an increase of 58 percent), on international flights - 211,005 people (an increase of 3.1 times).

The number of flights performed in February 2022 amounted to 10,250, which is 53 percent more than in February 2021, the ministry said.

The number of flights performed on local routes amounted to 7,985 (an increase of 36 percent), on international routes - 2,265 (an increase of 1.7 times).

Passenger traffic at all airports in Turkey amounted to 18.6 million people and cargo turnover - 472,761 tons in February 2022.
